An Impossible Run Chase...

Australian Cricket Team came to Sri Lanka amidst the crisis that Sri Lanka going on right now. They came here not just to play 2, 3 games but to play a full series. So as we all know, the series started with T20i matches.

The first two matches were held in Colombo RPS and Australia won both. I also went to watch the 1st match and you know what happened 🙂. So Sri Lankans were hopeless. And the 3rd and last match were played yesterday and I know pretty much all know what happened..

It was an impossible chase.. when it comes to the last 3 overs, 60 runs were needed to score. Dasun Shanaka and Chamika Karunarathne were on the crease. Chamika was new to the crease and Shanaka was struggling. And then, in the last 3 overs, Australians were speechless.

Josh Hazelwood had 2 wickets for 3 runs for his first 3 overs. He was called to bowl the 18th over. And Shanaka did what we can 1 6 6 4 4 1 is what that over looked like. And that's the over that Shanaka sent the red light for the Australian Team.

So the pressure was applied on the two bowlers who are going to bowl the last 2 overs, Jhye Richardson and Kane Richardson. Their aim was to control batsmen by bowling slow balls and wide yorkers. But with the pressure and less experience, Richardsons failed to deliver.

And Shanaka and Chamika got the full advantage out of it. Shanaka dissected gaps really well to hit fours. And also he hit a few mighty 90+ meters sixes. And in the end, Sri Lanka won the match with a Wide Ball.

And something special happened in 19th over. On the last delivery, Umpire Kumar Dharmasena called a wide but actually, it wasn't. And this thing did flashback us into the T20i series which was played in Australia a few months ago. There, Australian umpire, Rod Tucker didn't call a wide for a ball which was a wide when Sri Lanka was batting and it did cost us the win.

And there's another thing. I saw so many children who were cheering for Sri Lanka were caught on the camera. Man, it was impressive. What an energy they had in their faces. I mean, they were truly alive. Not only them, but the whole Sri Lankan Cricket Fans were also alive last night...
