New Year at Office

New year brings new hopes, plans, motivation, strength and all in one package. To be honest, now I do not have a big trust on new years. We have had consecutive bad years since 2019 and no better. So it is usual not to trust. 😥

But as a tradition, we worked together to welcome new year. Work has been allocated to different departments and as usual we were given a big part. Quality department was assigned to decorate main door, pun kalasa and reception area decorations.

As agreed by members, decorations were done on sea theme. So sand, sea shells, blue color were used. We have sustainability concepts in the plant. Therefore we did not use polythene, plastics for decos. So we wanted to use natural materials like sand, sea shells, coconut husks, clay pots, paper and paints.

Doing a group work is hard than doing it alone. Normally not all members in the group work as a team. No difference was here. Sometimes I got angry also. But somehow team could finish work before the time.

January 1st was an off day as it was a Sunday. Therefore we celebrated new year on January 2nd. We had to wear Sarees and I wore a green color sari. But the new year was not same as last years. Normally January first is like a big festival day in our place.

All the girls wear beautiful dresses, put makeup and do a hairstyle. No such things this time. Everyone has limited their costs with the crisis in the country. 2023 will not be a good year but anyway we wished happy new year to each other as a tradition. Let’s hope for something good.
