Rejection - My Thoughts

in #life8 years ago (edited)

A recent experience has urged me to write this post. I hope my findings assist you in some way. Rejection is part of the human condition and will happen to us all. We must therefore learn to navigate the pain with a level of reason.

My Thoughts:

Don’t attempt to be brave or to minimise what has happened. Allow yourself room to indulge in music, arts, games or other activities until you are ready to re-engage with the world.

Believe them when they said it. Don’t trick yourself into thinking that their past kind words and sweetness provide any indications of future commitment.

Kill any remaining hope yourself if they didn’t have the courage to do it themselves.

They may have acted weird throughout the whole experience. This is because they may feel guilty, because they are nice. However this doesn’t mean that they necessarily want you.

Don’t imagine that people can fall back in love with someone out of fear or guilt.

Don’t connect the rejection with everything you fear and hate about being you.

Rejection does not diminish your value. If a vending machine will not accept 5 cent coins, they are still worth 5 cents.

Loved the analogy you had made in the last line ! It really sucks when you got rejected , I try myself to get distracted from the rejection rather than thinking about it and screwing myself . I could connect some of the points I've used but the whole catalogue would help one more . Thanks for your insights @sanctus

Thanks for reading!
