Raksha- bandhan

'Raksha' means 'to protect' and 'bandhan' literally translates to 'a bond'. Raksha bandhan is a special ancient Hindu festival that has a history that dates back to around 6000 years ago. Though it is a hindu festival, it is loved and celebrated by people of other religions too. I guess, that's what makes India a beautiful country where people get together and celebrate festivals irrespective of their religion.

Raksha bandhan is actually a day to celebrate the love between a brother and his sister.
Raksha bandhan is a sacred hand made thread that a sister lovingly ties around her brother's wrist and the brother in turn promises to take care of her during the bad and good times.

Brother usually gets a gift for his sister which the sisters eagerly wait for. My brother stays away from me and couldn't make a visit, so I sent him an e-rakhi. I personally feel that a thread would make no difference to our relationship, but it is just another chance to say him that I love him. I love him and he loves me back. There is no way that any brother would not help when needed And vice versa.

Siblings are God's gift. There are some things that you can only share with siblings. I am grateful that God blessed me with the best brother ❤️. The fights and make ups were all important and life without you would have been colourless. Thank you for being that naughty brother with whom childhood was fun :)
