Is parenting tough ?

in #parenting7 years ago

Yes, it definitely is , specially in a developing country like India where in every 2 nd woman you meet tells you that you suck at parenting. Being a mother is one of the toughest jobs in the world (that's what our georgeous miss world Manushi chillar quotes), but is it really a job? Well you don't get paid in this job, sometimes you lose your cool, sometimes you get warnings from neighbors and teachers , sometimes you get drenched in baby poop and sometimes in mashed food that your kid must have flung at you while feeding him/ her. The question is , does all these efforts give you love ?

Well, lovely mother's in India would be judging me by now . For we Indians our kids are our assets. We cannot compromise when it comes to our kids.. chill mom 's I am also of the same opinion. My kids are my priority, but then sometimes when I read online content on effective parenting I feel that what we Indians r doing is wrong. We are telling our kids that it is okay to live for your kids.
What does living for your kids mean? Parents forget to live their life , they don't travel, they quit their career , they give away their hobbies and many more to care for their kids.. but when time comes kids move out leaving their parents old , by then parents surely are in no health to attain what they have missed all these years.
That doesn't mean kids are at fault. Kids have to move out some day to achieve different goals in life, after all as parents we have always prayed for that.
What I am trying to say is, parents should live their life along with caring for their kids. That would help them in raising wonderful kids who get to know that people around them also have a life of their own and at the same time gives opportunities to parents to enjoy life as well.
I am not a parenting expert or an experienced mother.. this blog is just my perspective.. experienced mom's can tell me if I am wrong and so can experienced kids 😉

Parents can live their lives provided there is enough support and equal participation in childcare by both parents; which means Indian dads also pitch in equally. This is not so common in Indian families.
