Can a clever brain save many lives?

Once upon a time deep inside the jungle where all animals lived together in peace and harmony there was a small clear water pond. That pond was the only source of water in the jungle, so all animals, Mr Giraffe, Mr lion, Mrs tiger, and jolly fellow monkeys came there along with their families to quench their thirst. It was like meeting point for everyone. Everything went smooth till a monster made it's way into the pond. The green coloured, dragon like, monster decided to stay inside the pond. It easily got camouflaged as algae because of it's green colour.

The monster hid deep inside the pond and showed up whenever he found a animal alone and helpless. He used to hold the animal by his claws and put it inside the pond and ate it. This went on for weeks and the number of animals in the jungle was slowly decreasing. The monster was smart enough to eat only the ones who came to the pond alone because he didn't wanted to make other animals aware of his presence. He wanted to eat them one by one.

One day, the two cute little Monkeys, came to the pond after their heavy tree swinging game. One of the monkey 🐒 was tired, so he just wanted to get into the pond as soon as possible and take a dip into the pond filling his tummy with fresh water. However, one out of the two was smarter and told the other to control his desires. He had a sixth sense or may be he has the knack to identify the risk. He brought in a big hollow bamboo branch and sipper the water from the pond by standing at a distance. He instructed his friend monkey to do the same. Both the Monkeys after drinking enough water got back to playing on the trees.

The monster was very hungry for the day and couldn't wait any longer to get some fresh meat. So, he got out of the pond and went in search of animals. The Monkey alerted all the animals and all of them got together and shooed the monster out of the jungle.

However, things could have been different if the monkey was a little jealous. His jealousy would have killed his friend and the monster would have stayed inside the pond and killed many other animals.
