It begins: UK recession announced

in #recession5 years ago (edited)

The Bank of England said yesterday the UK is falling into a recession, blaming it exclusively on Brexit uncertainty.

In addition to this, Governor Mark Carney warned that food prices will still continue to rise in the event of a No-Deal Brexit. Source article here

Personally I would say these two things have nothing to do with Brexit.

This recession is long overdue and it will not only affect the UK. It will be global.

The ongoing increase in food prices relates to the ongoing decline of agriculture, caused by the increase in extreme weather. And again, this is global.

We are moving into a long period of solar inactivity (Grand Solar Minimum) which has a direct effect on Earth. The last time this happened was in 1650 and mainstream agriculture was the first thing to fail.

We are told the world is warming up and that it is all our fault, but this could not be further from the truth.

In 1650 the population of the world took a dramatic nose dive because no one was prepared.

Don't be one of those people.

Grow your own food and take nothing for granted about the system which provides for you currently.

Timing is everything

It is no coincidence the global recession will come at the same time as the failing of agriculture. Many things will come to a head over the next few years and times will be hard for the common folk. In short, they are expecting lots of us to die.

No one knows for sure how a recession will affect crypto because Bitcoin was born as a result of the last recession, but it seems logical to assume that investment money will seek a safe haven when traditional markets are crashing.

Could crypto be that safe haven?

I would say yes.

Over the years I have been an active environmental campaigner.

These days though I am feeling my emphasis should be more on 'prepping' - in the widest sense. Doing all I can to insulate my family from changes ahead.

Self-reliance and resilience should be the cornerstones of what we do.

You and me both my friend. And now that I have a family of my own I feel this stronger than ever.

Thankfully I've been obsessed with survival skills since I was a child. We grow our own food now in the South of France and have a near-by water source with the ability to filter it. We also have some solar, compliments of all these solar related jobs I keep finding myself doing.

I shot this one in Indonesia a few years.

I like their products because they are compact and versatile.

Ultimately my family and I are training ourselves to be able to quickly move location and set up camp anywhere. This will become important when the masses get hungry.

As you say, prepping in the widest sense.

Getting PV is my next big goal. In fact that is what brought me to Steem - but that hasn't quite worked out yet.

Adaptability, and making the most of what you have, is key.

(The JouleStick looks neat - is the little PV sufficient to charge enough?)

I have always found it adequate to charge the torch, but suspect it would struggle to fully charge an ipad.

Oh man.......thanks for the heads up!

My pleasure.

Personally I can't wait to put my off grid skills to the test ;)

Keep the good info coming!

hope will be good for crypto!

I can't see how it won't be.

Good to see you here still!

same to you! steem on!✌️

Calling out climate change science as BS?

Get ready for some serious SJW, down voting! lol

Am assuming you've had some experience with the down voting as I know you and I are on the same page with this one.

Thanks for not mentioned the account name as this is how they find us!

In the end the cause of the problem is irrelevant. Only how we are preparing for the future.
