My Presentation at Ibadan Steem Meetup
Yesterday I attended one of the most organized and well planned meet up ever in Nigeria. starting from the calls I received from @mosunomotunde concerning my presentation, my accommodation booking call from @mosunomotunde, a car to pick up to the venue (arranged by @mosunomotunde), live travel support from @mosunomotunde and @fisteganos. I was basically receiving calls throughout the journey and I felt so loved.
@fisteganos was checking up on me via WhatsApp, @mosunomotunde was constantly calling to check up on me and @tojukaka was communicating with me via text messages.
I've held and attended several meetups, but I've not seen anyone that was well organized as this one was. @tojukaka sir, you did a great job.
My journey to Ibadan was approximately 4 hours (1-hour flight from uyo to Lagos, 3 hours by road to Ibadan from Lagos).
On arrival, @tojukaka picked me up and took me to the hotel. The first two persons I met there were @ejemai and @nairadaddy. We had a brief chat and I went upstairs and guess who I saw? I saw @xpency for the first time. I've been longing to see that great man.
After some minutes, @ehiboss, @destinysaid @gbenga @oluwoleolaide @ewuoso @xpressng and @emmexdee walked in.
We all had a brief chat and went in to prepare for the big day.
The meet - up
The meet up far exceeded what I had in mind, I used to think uyo had the biggest and most organized community, nope, you need to see what these guys did mehn. Lol
Anyways I'm back to uyo and I willimplement the level of organization seen at the steem meetup in Ibadan.
The event had several speakers who spoke on several topics as seen below.
My presentation lasted for more than 20 minutes and within those approximately 25 minutes, I spoke on Blockchain and Cryptocurrency.
I gave a little history of Blockchain, the different Blockchains we have using steem, bitshares and EOS to the difference between coin and token.
Just in case you don't know the difference between coins and token,
coins are cryptocurrencies that have their own Blockchain, tokens are cryptocurrency that was built on another Blockchain. (there are more technical explanations to this, but let's just stick to this explanation for the newbies) .
Other speakers at the event
@tojukaka gave a well-detailed lecture on what the core values on Steemit are. His highly interactive session was not just educative but also entertaining.
@gee1's presentation reminded me of my early days on Steemit. The days of earning $0.00. It wasn't easy the but patience and consistency kept me going.
@ejemai blew our minds with his own unique way of communication. Just in case you don't know, @ejemai is the founder of @stach and the brain behind the success of @stach with support from @donkeypong @sndbox and @kingst.
He started @stach in Port Harcourt and extended it to Uyo and the next one will be in the Philippines and then Ibadan.
@ehiboss said so many things about steemit password that I didn't know about. He taught us how to protect our steemit account and how to securely save your password on different platforms.
@nairadaddy dropped an amazing presentation on decentralized health care system on Steem Blockchain called @airclinic which is already working and very successful.
