How to make a SOUR SOP DRINK
Hello steemians welcome to my blog, tonight I will be taking us on how to make SOUR SOP Drink
Soursop, also known as graviola, is the fruit of Annona muricata, a type of tree native to tropical regions of the Americas...
source
This prickly green fruit has a creamy texture and a strong flavor that is often compared to pineapple or strawberry.
Soursop is typically eaten raw by cutting the fruit in half and scooping out the flesh.
Fruits range in size and can be quite large, so it may be best to divide it into a few portions.
A typical serving of this fruit is low in calories yet high in several nutrients like fiber
Ingredients
1-2 pound of soursop peeled, seeded and sliced
1.5cup of milk(optional)
If your ingredient calls for it. You can add
5table spoon of sugar(or any other sweetener)
I prefer to use honey
Crushed ice
1 squeezed lime
Preparation
Blend soupsop, milk and sugar together (if you are using sugar)
Add ice and blend again till smooth. Add honey if you are using honey
Squeeze some lime and serve chill
Some health benefits of the drink
The flavour of the fruit has been described as a combination of lettuce and tomatoes, with sour citrus flavour notes contrasting with an underlying creamy texture reminiscent of coconut or banana.
Soursop is widely promoted (sometimes as "graviola") as an alternative cancer treatment. There is, however, no medical evidence that it is effective.

Practitioners of herbal medicine use soursop fruit and graviola tree leaves to treat stomach ailments, fever, parasitic infections, hypertension and rheumatism. It's used as a sedative, as well. But claims of the fruit's anti-cancer properties have attracted the most attention.
Improves Gastrointestinal Health. Being rich in vitamin C, soursop was used for many years as a natural remedy for scurvy and dysentery. The juice of the soursop fruit can also be a very effective diuretic, to cleanse the gastrointestinal tract and remove excess toxins and salts from the body.
Some test-tube studies show that soursop may help reduce the growth of cancer cells. More research is needed to evaluate the effect in humans.
Test-tube studies show that soursop is high in antioxidants, which may help prevent cell damage and could lower the risk of chronic disease.
