The Achievers' Habits [Part 2/3]
When you observe the people that have made noticeable progress in life and have achieved one thing or the other that is worthwhile, you will discover that there are some habits that they formed which helped to keep them on track. Habit is simply what someone has continued to do repeatedly and consistently, so much that it has become part of the person. In our last post, we looked at some habits that should be cultivated by anyone who wants to be successful. In this post, we shall also explore further on such habits.

The first of the habits we will look at here is keeping company with successful people. If all your friends are people without any noticeable progress in life, then you are already taking a very big risk. Of course, it will not be long and you will join them in what they are doing that made them to be without success. If you are the only one thinking positively among your close acquaintances, then you need to change your circle. The people you hang out with will determine how your life will be shaped. If you stay with time wasters, you will join them to waste time. But if you stay with people that utilise every second they have, you will also be influenced to do so.
Someone that has achieved success has something that he is doing. By keeping company with them, you will easily be influenced to do the same thing that they are doing. The truth is that if you do what someone has done in the same frequency they did it and with the same format, then you have all propensity to achieve the same, or similar result. You will agree with me that there are things you started doing, not because you wanted to, but because you were in the company of the people that do it. This shows how powerful the influence of friends are. So in order to be successful, then make it a habit to keep company with the successful.
The next on the list is effective time management. Every single person, including those that are successful and others, have the same number of hours in a day. What determines how they draw out of those hours is how they use and manage their time. It is true that time may be free, but its usage is a product of choice. The hours of the day are freely given by nature, but how you manage and maximise it will become your own gift back to nature. One of the biggest destroyers of time is not the limitations of time itself but procrastination. If you want to take an action today, it will be unwise to defer or shift it to a later time.
The time you waste in doing nothing cannot be regained. So if you want to be successful in life, you have to value and use time effectively. More so, you need to also realise that time is an asset and as such, should be invested wisely. A lot of people are complaining of lack of support but they do not realise that they are already faced with one of the greatest supports which is the equal allocation of time. Every single one that has made progress in life had what you also have - time. You only need to focus on optimizing your time.
The last habit we will look at here is "positive thinking." To achieve something great, you have to also think towards that direction. You cannot think negatively and hope to achieve something positive. Your thoughts and your ideas should work together, so as to deliver what you want to achieve. It is worthy to note that it is what you think overtime that will ultimately become a habit for you. For success to be achieved, you have to condition your mind and your mentality towards positivity. More than people can imagine, your mind has enough ability to dictate the happenings in your life.

Even in the midst of negative occurrence, you should not empower the negative happenings with negative thoughts, rather you should counter it by thinking and acting positively. Of course, the right action will definitely begin with the right thought. If you get it right with your thoughts, then a whole lot of other things will fall into place. More so, you are only a reflection of what goes on in your mind. That is, great actions are birthed in the mind. I conclude this part with these words by one of my friends:
Think greatness to see greatness.
