How Well, Not How Hard

in #life4 years ago

How you try something is the most important thing and not how hard you have tried it. This is why it is only the end (and not the process) that substantiates the labour. Believe me, no one is interested in knowing how hard you have worked or the level of skills you have put into it but why they are watching to see is the result that comes from it.

When you try to get something done and it does not happen the way you expect, many people will be quick to tell you "try again". Yes you should try again but it is worthy to note that if you try again the same way you did at the first trial, you might get the same result you got initially. This is because, you cannot follow the same procedure in the same way and the same format and hope to have an entirely different result. To have a new result, it is demanded that you try a new approach and try something new.

Something may work for others but it does not automatically mean you have to tow that line. You should figure out what works for you. In a football match for example, a player may be good in scoring goals from the left flank because he is a left-footer. You, being a right-footer, if you try it, it may not work for you. Do not allow people's successes to form the principal yardstick for your life. You have your own unique abilities and you are not meant to compete with someone's strengths but to complement their weaknesses.

Moving or making motion is not always equal to making advancement. In the same way, hard work does not automatically correlation to results. There is a "how to" which you must follow in order to arrive at the required success. This is the reason I normally tell people to focus more on how they work instead of focusing on how hard they try.
