Source of The Steem Soar?

Looks like word got out that Steem can do what Bitcoin can’t & the Steem blockchain is looking like a strong contender.

The steem blockchain hardly broke a sweat! 

My husband gave me a bit of a jolt this morning when he said he'd read you can no longer buy steem with bitcoin!  I thought we've suddenly got steem:fiat!  But turns out it was 'steam' [the game service] and it was early December, due to high bitcoin fees.   It's *just* arriving on his radar.  Have been dragging him into crypto :-D
