Sunday in the garden 💚
Happy Sunday Steem Fam!
I hope you are having a fabulous day. Here are my favourite photos from today. Some fascinating spider egg sacks, a gorgeous praying mantis and a few colourful flowers for you to enjoy.
The intricate designs in nature never cease to fascinate and delight me! These tiny egg sacks looked like little more than a fluffy blob on the stalks of a mallow plant but my macro lens brought them truly to life in all their stunning detail. I saw what looked like tiny red spiders or aphids emerging from one of them but having googled what they are I have not managed to find a photo that confirms who or what exactly made these egg nests so if you know what they are please leave me a message here in the comments.
I never have to look far in the garden to find a praying mantis. I never tire of photographing them. They are the most fascinating, almost alien looking insects in my opinion.
Marigolds after a brief rain shower. Their colours are so vivid and always bring a smile. Flowers are real eye candy for my soul. I could never have enough! This particular variety is Safari Red and just serves as an ornamental. but the English marigold or Pot Marigold ( calendula officinalis) is a great medicinal friend. Used for sore throats, mentrual cramp, reduces pain and swelling and speeds the healing of wounds. I always keep some organic Calendula Cream in my first aid kit.
I love the pale blue of Plumbago flowers. As the evergreen shrubs grow they produce such a beautiful show of numerous flowers. Powdered roots have been used to relieve headaches and to remove warts but care must be taken as overuse can result in skin irritation.
Wonderful shot you have captured my friend. I always love your adventure.
Thanks very much for your support🦋🌴💛🌈🍀
Hi Sallybeth,
Stunning photos - Beautiful blooms and the fluffy bug is awesome!
Upvoted and resteemed :D
Thanks very much, it’s not a fluffy bug, it’s a nest of eggs hatching little red spider type things 😉🍀💛🌴🌈
Your blog is so enjoyable ❤ Awesome unique pics as always. It was just this year in a contest here on steemit, that i l3arned marigolds and calendula are so closely related/ the same! What a neat find considering i love marigolds & calendula LOL. Wishing you a beautiful & peaceful Sunday too 🙏🎶🍓🍉
