Birds Of Costa Rica .....The Yellow-Headed Cara-Cara.

May I introduce,

This beautiful medium sized falcon is The Yellow Headed Cara-Cara. Also known as Milvago Chimachima or in Spanish as Caracara Cabecigualdo. He frequents open habitats of the Southern Pacific Slope, including pasture, grasslands and the edge of the forests. An omnivorous bird feeding on reptiles, insects, plants and small animals. I was so lucky to see not one but two on the side of the road today.

They are very special. Everything is colorful in Costa Rica, even falcons! :D

We live on a top floor and I believe that there is a falcon nest on the roof. We have here two very big falcons flying so close to our balcony that sometimes I'm afraid to keep the door open as it seems like they could fly in :D
