Woodpecker
This beautiful bird is nesting quite close to my house. I don't see him for days but then every once in a while he makes an appearance, tidying the nest for future use I think as there are no signs or sounds of life in it right now.
He is so stunning I can't resist trying to capture a little of his majestic presence.

Cracking shot! I actually saw my first woodpecker in England the other day!! I've seen them else where but never in England so I was well chuffed. I tried to take a shot but by the time I had enjoyed the moment I had missed it :(
