Signs of Trouble: Depression

Among all the mental health challenges that people are suffering from the most common among adolescents is depression. Depression is a serious medical condition in which a person feels very sad, hopeless, and unimportant and often is unable to live in a normal way.
It affects our relationship with others and ruins our lives slowly but gradually. Depression is different from sadness since the latter is only focused on temporary feeling of emptiness.
Here are some signs that you may have depression and that you need help:
1. Feeling sad and lonely most of the time
2. Unable to enjoy the things that you love
3.Experience of insomnia and hypersomnia
4. Increase or decrease of appetite
5. Problems with maintaining social relationships
6. Always feels anxious and worried over trivial matters
7.Difficulty in making rational decisions
8.Intense feeling of rejection and loneliness
9. Lost motivation in doing things
10.Had feelings of worthlessness and guilt
11.Intense feeling of fear
12. Always panics for no reason at all
13. Had thoughts of giving up life and taking your own life
If you experience these signs then you may be in trouble. You need support from your family,friends and even to professionals. When dealing with mental health issues like depression do not ever go the extra mile alone. Ask for help because you need it. Healing is a combination of helping yourself survive and letting your significant others help you. Comfort,emotional support,information professional treatment are all forms of help. While some people may have difficulty reaching out to others they trust,taking the first step in getting help is the first step towards a complete healing on your mental health.
