I signed up on STEEM. It wasn't hassle free. The point is I signed up. First thing steem does is give me a master password which I used to download a PDF of my keys. Steem urgently advises me to get my keys to a safe space or place; offline and online.

STEEM's urgency and the stress they put on storing my keys where I couldn't lose them easily told me this is serious business. So I followed the advice and put my keys on my external flash drive and an online safe box. Just in case, something broke somewhere.

I don't want to be told this.

The answer is yes; I've retrieved all my keys and hopefully they're as safe as they can be.

Do I know each of these key functions and restrictions?

I do now. Steem offers four important public keys. The owner key or master password, the posting key, the memo key, the active key.

The owner key. This key is basically God if steemit were a universe. It's the most powerful key. The one you store offline and online use when it's necessary, that is, when your account gets compromised and needs redemption. This is the key you use to change other keys.

Active key.
So you want to transfer funds, power up or down transactions, vote for witnesses, convert STEEM dollars, update your profile details? This is your key. You could think of it as your personal assistant who doubles as your business guy.

Posting key
This is your Gemini key. The life of the party. You want to post on your blog? Comment? You use this key. You see now that this key is going to be used more often than your hair brush.

Memo key
This key is the magician you call on when you need to change some mice into men or in this case, encrypt and decrypt memos when you're transferring funds.

How do I plan on keeping my master password?
Safely offline. On paper and a pendrive.

Do I know how to transfer steem token to another STEEM user account?

I do now. You head to your steemit wallet, click on the drop-down menu next to steem, a menu appears and you click on transfer. Which takes you to a page with a form, you fill that form and voilà ! You transfer what you need to.

Do I know how to power up my STEEM?

Following the steps above up to where the drop-down menu appears, this time you click on power up instead of transfer. You're all set.
