Dinner with Bally and Midway games.
Had a lot of fun doing this. I was living in the Madison, WI a couple decades ago, and I was getting ready for an interview with Bally games. They were a leader in pinball machines for years. The interview was in Chicago. I drew this to add to my portfolio. I already worked with a guy that was an artist there. The interview went well. I was then given a tour of Midway games. I worked with a couple guys there too. We played the arcade game Carnevil on a 50 inch screen. I was also shown the studios. Played a pinball game also. I was shown their newest machine. They had an lcd screen at the back of the game, near the score board.
They were hoping to revitalize the pinball industry.
I was taken out to lunch at an Indian food restaurant. It was kinda funny. I was asked to drive the guys that I worked with to downtown Chicago. I had never driven in Chicago. I said, "No I just got the car." The lead programmer who was a friend of mine, called me a "bitch" because I wouldn't drive them to the restaurant. A year earlier Jason took the studio I was working for out to dinner, and a strip club for my 21st birthday. He owned the company. It was a great night. I got called up on stage the stripper chicks tied me to a pole and ripped my underwear out. It was a blast.
I unfortunately did not get the job with Bally, but what an awesome time!
