No, this has actually been a single exposure (and 13 seconds exposure time at f1.4 and ISO 3200, just looked it up).
I wanted to expose for an even shorter time, because you can already see some trails from the movement of the earth in this image, but ISO 3200 is pretty much the most my camera can handle (and denoising such an image is tricky, because it's hard to tell detail and noise apart).
I'd really like to try doing some of these night-sky long exposures... Hmmm....
Just go for it ! This was one of my first attempts, you can do a lot better that that :)
I'm guessing it's a composite of the same scene, exposing for the sky and then for the trees? Only 20 seconds?
