Pep Guardiola's side scraped past Huddersfield courtesy of a late Raheem Sterling goal. City went into half time trailing to the newly-promoted side, after a flicked-on corner bounced off Nicolas Otamendi and into the net. They were only behind for a matter of minutes when the highly-influential Sterling was brought down in the box and Sergio Aguero dispatched the equaliser from the spot. It was the scruffiest of goals that decided the game, with Sterling eventually bundling the ball in via his stomach.
