Today I would like to look at Hebrews 12 verse 11
11)When we are punished, it seems to us at the time something to make us sad, not glad. Later, however, those who have been disciplined by such punishment reap the peaceful reward of a righteous life
When God punishes us we can react on it in various ways, we can feel sorry for ourselves, we can become angry at God or we can accept it thankfully. Although at the time, we may not like punishment, we must know that God uses it to form us and to strengthen us, in the end we will receive eternal life.

Psalm 118 vs 18 says the Lord has disciplined me severely, but He has not given me over to death. This means that the punishment of God is to put us into the right part of righteousness.
When we are disciplined, we will not be able to derail from the part of truth.
