Today I would like to look at Romans 3 verse 25 and 26
25-26)God offered Him, so that by His blood, He should become the means by which people's sins are forgiven through their faith in Him. God did this in order to demonstrate that He is righteous. In the past He was patient and overlooked people's sins; but in the present time He deals with their sins, in order to demonstrate His righteousness. In this way God shows that He himself is righteous and that He puts right everyone who believes in Jesus.
God does not just overlook sin, no He judge fairly. He punishes sin, and the punishment is eternal death in hell. God's mercy however means that He does not punish us for our sins, because Jesus paid for it by His death. To be saved you must however believe this. We don't have to feel guilty, because our debt has been taken away. In place of our debt we received eternal life, through the death of Jesus Christ. This is how God's acquittal of our sins is affected, through our faith in Jesus Christ.
