That seems like a big issue if it were to occur. Because all the exchanges now have bitcoin as a common denominator. But then again, if Ethereum would manage to surpass Bitcoin that would stop either way. And as some other cryptocurrency types have already implemented the Segwit protocol productively I don't think the biggest and best supported crypto will be the one to fall.
