How to Install The legend of Zelda : Return of the Hylian On PS Vita
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past was the first RPG I've finished. It was released more than 15 years ago and I can still remember the classic adventure I had with the game.
And thanks to the great work of fellow Legend of Zelda fans, there has been many indie games regarding it and the good thing is some games are continuation of the original Link To The Past and Return of the Hylian is one of them.
That's what this tutorial about, to help my fellow PS Vita players play a fan made continuation of this classic game.
Requirements
- Wifi
- Laptop or PC
- FTP client (I use WinSCP)
- PS Vita 3.60 that is already on Henkaku
You can check my previous blog post on how to install Henkaku if you don't know how to install it yet.
Installing Return of the Hylian
- First, download the VPK file from Github to your computer. No need to download the other files.
Here is the link to the file: https://github.com/usineur/ZeldaROTH/releases
- Open your FTP client on your computer. The FTP client I'm using is WinSCP.
- Go to your PS Vita and launch Henkaku/Molecularshell.
- Link it your computer and press select on the Vita, use the IP address provided and type it on your FTP client.
- Transfer the VPK file to the ux:o folder on your Vita. Avoid putting it in a different folder because it won't work.
- Locate the VPK file, press X a couple of times to install it.
- Un-link the vita now from the computer during this process and then delete the VPK file once installed.
- Locate the new bubble in the live area
- Tap on it to launch the game.
- Choose a save file
- Enjoy your game
The Legend Zelda: Return to Hylian is just the one of the first and best Indie game that was created in order to extend the story of A Link To The Past and it offers the same experience with newer enemies, weapons and bosses and of course save Princess Zelda once again.
