The New Distributed World Order - New Book Excerpt

"Distributed systems give power to the powerless and let the powerful take advantage of collaboration."
This link has an excerpt from Blockchain: The Next Everything by Stephen P. Williams, published by Scribner and available from today.
Well, I hope someone finds it useful; I don't know how the text was chosen but it just seems to ramble about fairly basic stuff. The author makes the widespread error of equating Metcalfe's (so-called) Law to human networks; this is not true, the calculation is about the potential connections needed by a network - nobody on Steem is following everybody! Williams also makes the high-school error of calling it "exponential" growth when it isn't - it's parabolic.
Maybe somewhere in the book there are some insights.
