Fascinating article about the song, “Baby, it’s cold outside.” This was kind of my understanding of the song. It follows logically that this song would be a series of double entendre‘s in the 1940s to deal with the over arching cultural and moral standards of the times. This is what pop culture represented back then. I can understand Our contemporary take that it might be considered rapey but the song is a reflection of its cultural era, more an old artefact of a different moral standard that it sought to subvert.
