Hello friends,

Welcome back to my blog. It's weekend already and one thing I know about the weekend is shopping. Most people love to shop during weekends and I am one of such people. Weekend shopping gives me lot of opportunities to explore the market very well without been in a haste.

It was a very dry Friday morning and I thought to myself, shopping today won't be a bad idea since Saturdays are often crowded in the market. I spoke to my friend whom I am staying over at her place about the things that are needed in the house. Most of the things needed are food stuff. I was surprised to hear her confirm to the things I said. She told her husband about it and he accepted that we go shopping.

Now we have to come up with which market to go for the shopping because most of the markets, the traders doesn't take online transfer of money .They all prefer cash. This is the situation of things in Many parts of Nigeria. We are now in a cashless situation. And with the situation of things in Nigeria, cash is scarce, because of the introduction of new Naira notes. Infact if you must have cash, you must buy it. Imagine that!

We resolved to travel so far to a market in Obinze village. We heard they accept online transfer of money. We gave it a trial found out it was true. The market is usually massive on its market day but we noticed it was not as busy as usual because the villagers are still recovering from the election.

The first place we went to is called slutter. They sell cow meat and goat meat there. I guess that's where the name came from. We bought cow meat in bulk after we bargained price with the seller. We bought full Cow leg and body parts. It cost us 25,000 naira which equivalent to 250 steem.

We asked the seller to help us cut the meats into pieces for easy carriage, the seller was of great help. But why won't he when he has collected alot of money from us as payment for the meat.

The next store we went to was were they sell fresh tomatoes and fresh pepper. I could not resist the beautiful scene of fresh tomatoes. The prices of the tomatoes and peppers was quite expensive 1 big bowl of fresh tomatoes cost 6000 naira which is equivalent to 60 steem while the pepper cost 1000 naira Wich is equivalent to 10 steem. Take a look at the tomatoes and tell me what you think?

Next stop was the yam store. We bought about 10 tubers of yam which cost 12,000 naira which is equivalent to 120 steem. The size of the tubers of yam was worth the price because they were sizable.

Not to forget, we also bought some smoked dry fish. Have you tasted jollof rice made with this kind of smoked dry fish? The taste is not of this world, I tell you the truth. The price of the fish was really expensive but we could not resist the sight of it. We had buy it. We bought two plates of the fish and each cost 4000 naira which is 40 steem, given us a total of 8000 naira which is 80 steem.

I thought we were done shopping until my friend told me we needed more Rice in the house. She said the one in the house will soon finish. We searched for were to purchase Rice and we finally found a store that sells bags of Rice. I was really surprised when the seller told us the price of the Rice. I really felt bad for my country at the degree of which the prices of things went up. The Price of 1 bag of rice cost us 45,000 which is 450 steem we had to buy it because you never can tell if the price will go up again.

After buying the rice I realized that I was already exhausted. I wasn't just shopping with my friend. I was also carrying my friends baby. I knew the little baby was tired too. So it was time to go home.
