Failed Attempt (Fifty Word Story Contest)
She woke up feeling wet between her legs.
This isn't good, she thought and ran anxiously to the bathroom.
With a thump she landed on the toilet seat at the sight of her blooded underwear.
You'll try again, they'll say.
Failed attempt number six and she was already thirty-seven.

But 37 is still young for many more attempts. :)
It is a woman's topic, I believe it is harder for a man to understand.
I've seen women pursue and finally experience the happiness of maternity at older ages. I think if it is meant to be, it will be no matter how old you are and how many times you try.
True! I m one of that "late-starters". ;) I will get my Baby in May this year – at the age of 42. But I was lucky enough to get pregnant very fast. Compared with some other women of a younger age struggling with infertility this is a blessing.

Well done @ruth-girl powerful. It's always good to limit words (or time when you are doing life drawing) as it forces us to choose the right most potent words (or lines in drawing) in the time/word count given. It lets us see how powerful words CAN be to express a feeling with only a few of them.
Of course I fail at it in comments as I go on and on and on and well, you get it...I'm probably well over 50 words eh? ;)
I hate being laconic! These 50-word contests are a good exercise as I have to spend quite some time finishing a piece because, as you said, I need to find the exact words to pass my message on. The good thing is I don't need to work on the plot too much :P
