Chasing The Summers
The clouds were sailing.
A new journey they were about to set out on.
To the lands of winter.
Because this summer was ending.
Soon.
Counting days and sunshine.
The clouds were sailing.
As the wind was turning from a breeze to a chill.
And the swallows were leaving.
Below those clouds I saw some storks too.
They were spanning their wide wings across the skies and flying.
Running after the summers.
Like most of us do.

Yesterday we had the first signs of autumn. Rain, lightning and thunder most of the day. Temperatures dropped almost 10 degrees. August is leaving in a few days and it's taking the summer with it...
You can feel the decadence beginning to take place. Like a fruit that starts going from ripe to rotten.
It's weird, isn't it? Every year this month, August, signals the end. And September, following, marks a new beginning. A beginning blue, sad, rainy, full of obligations, work and duties. But that's just how life goes and there is not a thing you can do to change it.
You can sit back and enjoy each season with its beauty...
Or chase the summers like the storks do.
Don't mind me, I just felt a little melancholic today.
Blame it on the weather...

ελα ωραια ηταν....οι αστραπες το βραδυ ηταν ολα τα λεφτα....διπλα στο παραθυρο να βλεπεις εξω τον ουρανο να αστραφτει....τι αλλο θες!!!
...ασε τις μελαγχολιες για αργοτερα....ερχεται ο χειμωνακος μας!!!
Καλα, το τοπίο φανταστικό! Είχα βγει στο μπαλκόνι λίγο πριν πέσω γ ύπνο κ έβλεπες να λάμπουν τα σύννεφα στο βάθος, λες κι αναβοσβηνες μια σειρά με ολολευκες λάμπες.
Έρχεται σιγά σιγά κι αυτός. Δεν μπορούμε να κρατήσουμε το καλοκαίρι 2-3 μήνες ακόμα δυστυχώς...
Beautiful poem and pictures, although it made me a little melancholy too. Thought of Rilke's poem "Herbsttag" (Autum day) which for some reason is my favorite poem of all times. And the only one I remember 😜
September/October can still be nice here in Germany... by German standards (giggle) and since I am a September child, I like fall... even when it makes me sad to see the summer go. How about just leave out winter?

Autumn is nice here too, but it's just hard to get back inside again. Close those windows, wear the extra jacket, see the night coming earlier...
I agree, we could leave out winter or maybe keep it in one place and pay a visit anytime we want to build a snowman or do some skiing 😛
