Archipenko actively experimented with sculpture painting, combining the picture background and framing with
a large relief and polychromy. He worked and the technique of assembling structures in a single form from
various materials, using in their works glass, plastic, metal, wood, celluloid,
papier-mache, oilcloth, which was absolutely innovative for that time, having adopted this method in
Picasso (Medrano II, 1913).
His sculptures, which consisted of holes, concavities and protuberances, demonstrated
a new way of perception of the world.
