Nike, a name that needs no introduction

Nike could not miss among the manufacturers of items for running, but a personal photo dedicated to them (the shot is taken from common images), it may seem absurd but it is the consequence of a commercial relationship interrupted by their will as many as 12 Years ago, so from that date onwards this company has ceased to be part of the sample of the brands I treated in the various stores that I managed.

There has never been good blood between us, because the contacts were sometimes even stormy, I have never endured their way often haughty and even arrogant, this being and constantly believe the "Number One" does not fit my way of reasoning, in which we are all useful but no one is indispensable, and so it was for them.

The first time I contacted them was back in 1990, when the phenomenon of Nike has literally exploded as a sale of technical running shoes.

Those were years in which historical models like the Nike Air Pegasus, the Nike Air Skylon, the Nike Air Max (the really technical racing, not the fashion editions) dictated the law, to such an extent that a part of my loyal clientele was also 30 km in the car to go and buy them in another store, so I decided to try to treat the products of this brand.

The beginnings were promising, because even if they had very decisive and precise ideas, the contractual conditions proposed by them were all acceptable, so I made the first orders and everything ran smoothly like oil, but after a few years we started immediately discuss on several points, coming several times to make each other the big voice, up to increasingly large and rooted disagreements, which led to a definitive breakdown of business relations in 2006, after fifteen years not exactly idyllic.

During the 90s the general level of Nike footwear was decidedly high, with a very strong commercial success as sales volume, which over the years has considerably weakened, while for what concerns the clothing industry this company has always maintained on high market positions, with products sought from the point of view of attention to detail and very performing.

Nike maintains a good share of the market thanks to an audience of passionate admirers of this brand, which for years continue to follow the evolution of this company, as I mentioned above, no longer (I'm talking limited to the running industry) a top brand, but still remains among the largest retailers in the world.

Nice work. I have never worn a pair of Nike runners before and never really thought twice about the brand until they did "Project 1:59". I think it bought a lot of interest to back to running again and I think Nike should be commended on that. I think when I was first getting into running they were getting a lot of criticism for using child labour in third world countries to make their product.
Times seem to have really changed for them though and maybe its time for me to take a look.

Good answer, dear @run.vince.run.

My post is dictated simply by the experience I had with this brand, certainly they have greatly improved their image.

Thank you very much for your comment
