Is there a healing power that can only be found in a really long run. I'm not talking about stress release here either.

Yesterday I bailed on my usual Saturday arvo speed work as I was feeling under the weather and feeling like I was coming down with a cold. I got up this morning and even though I was feeling still a little average but decided I needed to get my long weekly run in.

I started my run and I didn't opt for my long tempo run that I have been doings over the past few weeks, and as the run started I was feeling like I was getting a fever and generally unwell. But although I decided to cut the tempo run, I decided to run at a slower pace for my Sunday run. For some reason it seemed to work, I am writing this post over 6 hours after the run and I still feel a lot better than I did when I started.

Not sure if it the improved blood flow from the run, heating up my body temperature or maybe breathing out all of the virus that I had, but I am glad I am better for it.
