South Island Lake Run
I just finished a 8.016km run that lasted about 0hh:47mm:12ss !
At 6:25am my girlfriend and I took a flight to Queenstown in the southern ski fields of the South Island of New Zealand. We are here visiting Kirsty's family over Christmas so decided that before we got into the rental car to drive to down to the Central Otago region, that we would go for a run along the shores of Lake Wakatipu which the tourist city of Queenstown surrounds.
We ran on the same trail as the Queenstown marathon. I have run the half marathon and Kirsty has run the full twice so the trail was pretty familiar to both of us. Some of the trails do climb a bit around the trail, but we opted to finish off the week of training with an easier 8km run along a pretty flat section of the course.
When we arrived in Queenstown at 8.30am, it was only about 6 degrees Celsius, but by the time we started running, it had risen to about 15 degrees. I the weather will be a little warmer when we get to Central Otago, so this will be a nice change until we get to the warmer parts of the South Island.

Its amazing and glad to get away from the wet weather back home.
The day has only 23 hours and not 24, do you know why? Because one hour is booked always for running.
