POEM: Treasure

Lets go back
To the time

Before I knew
Happenstance
Would throw
Us together

The shifting blues
In front of you
Bound like a golden tether

Told me the cue
When I forgot
Solitude was not better

Emerald days with you
In rain sleet or
Any given weather

And perfect too
Was my change
To thank with word and letter

And be grateful for
What I have truly
Outweighs any treasure
