Salted Egg or Itlog Maalat
Salted egg or commonly called itlog maalat is a preserved food product either made of chicken or duck egg.It is made by soaking the eggs into a brine solution. From the curing process, the salted egg has a briny aroma, a gelatin-like egg white and a firm-textured, round yolk.
It is best served with tomato and vinegar.
