Violent clashes erupt during protests in Chile
Police used tear gas and water cannon to disperse protesters in #Santiago, #Chile Tuesday as violent demonstrations continued.
The protests in Santiago have lasted for over a month and are part of wider demonstrations taking place across Chile.
Chileans are taking part in marches and rallies aimed at pressurizing the country's government to boost living standards through raising wages and improving the Chilean education system.
President Sebastián Piñera recently announced that the number of police officers on the streets would increase and new powers would be given to the armed forces to protect public infrastructure.
