MIG welding, start of my second class.
The second of three courses in my journey to get my welding certification is specialized welding processes. During this course I will be going over Mig, Tig, and flux core welding techniques. As always we went over the equipment and safety in the beginning so that we would understand what we were working with and then we push forward to making metal very hot while making a mess the same time. Lots of fun.
My instructor gave us some ballpark settings and spools of wire, and left us to set up our machines and cook some wire on some metal plates. We proceeded to have a pretty good time throwing down some MIG welding and continued on to doing various joints and techniques over the following 2 weeks. I found MIG welding to be a lot of fun and very different from stick welding.
During this two-week period we were given a project to build a stand for the neighboring manufacturing class. We built the stand fairly quickly and the school was very happy with the finalized product.
