These guys are in my local wilderness area. Which are actually oil fields. Now i want you to know that i love this area for it's open space and its beat up beauty. If it wasn't oil fields it would be completely covered with expensive homes, condos, and stores. When i was a kid there was much more empty space here and it has been slowly filled up with development. Much of that is gated, walled housing tracts that i have never been inside. Those create these weird pockets of no-mans land you have to drive around to get someplace else.

I think they are terrible for the city ... And they are the most boring and dull architecture as well. Come on, you really could have done better guys

P.S. not long after i took these shots the city gave all the trees a "haircut" : (

Sort:

A haircut seems unnatural, but I think I could not refrain of tearing off those lower leaves too, to get some air under their sweaty skirts!

It's really cool to see when they drop the fronds on their own. It's hard to find any that haven't been trimmed. In a group they don't all have all the fronds or maybe just some in the middle part of the trunk with the top part clear. Hmmm, am i making any sense? :)

You making sense?
Neh ... never.
Sense is boring.

Huh? hee hee hee

I never saw a tree like those! Very cool.

Thanks! I guess you'll have to head south to see some!

Thanks for your good posts, I followed you!
