How To Prepare Creamy Chocolate Porridge or Champorado
Hello Steemit friends!
Today I'm going to share with you my version of Creamy Chocolate Porridge or Champorado. It's an all-time Filipino favorite snack and an ultimate comfort food especially during the rainy days.
For #steemfoods I learned to cook this snack with my Mama. This food brings back childhood memories as this used to be our every afternoon snacks with cousins and playmates.
Here are the ingredients that I used to make my Creamy Chocolate Porridge or Champorado:
1/2 kilogram of glutinous rice
16 cups water
10 pcs tablea or chocolate/coco tablets
1 can (250mL) condensed milk
1/2 kilogram of brown sugar
1 cup coconut milk
HOW TO COOK:
*In a large cooking pot, place the rinsed glutinous rice. Add 16 cups of water and stir this continously for 20 minutes or until it boils.
*As soon as it starts boiling, you can start adding your tablea or chocolate tablets one at a time and continuously stirring the porridge.
*Once you noticed that all choco tablets are melted, you can add your condensed milk to give it its creamy milky taste.
*Gradually add your brown sugar to adjust the degree of sweetness you would like for your chocolate porridge. For this recipe, I used 1/2 kilo.
*Lastly, to give your porridge a creamier finish, add a cup of coconut milk 3-5 minutes before removing the pot from the fire.
And voila!!! My Creamy Chocolate Porridge is now ready to serve 🧡🧡🧡
Hopefully you can also try this recipe at home and cook this with your family and friends. Thank you all for the support you give, especially to @alikoc07 and @booming.
