Mark 16:17-18
And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues.
18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

A common question that arises in the mind following the hearing of this verse is: "believe what? " The answer can be gotten by reading the whole Mark 16 and it is believe in the resurrection of Jesus Christ. By Jesus' resurrection from the dead, it confirms His victory over every principality, death and all it's forms and agents including sicknesses.
Now to the main context, when Jesus was on earth, He said it is the Father in Him who does the works (John 14:10) and that Father He was referring to was the Holy Spirit. This is because when Jesus taught the Lord's prayer in Matthew 6:9, He said the Father is in heaven but on the day of His baptism, the Father's Spirit (The Holy Spirit) descended upon Him.
That same Father who was and is the Healer is also in us. When we lay hands on the sick, we simply create a physical medium for Him to act through. We do not do the healing. He does it. Ours is to just lay our hands on them in faith having the assurance that Christ has already borne their sicknesses(Isaiah 53:4). A testimony is shared about one man of God who after shaking a stranger had the stranger shouting:"my tumor is missing!!!" Hallelujah! Indeed God is the Healer.

LIFE APPLICATION
Your hand is a channel of healing so when you encounter the sick, create an avenue for him to encounter the healing power of Jesus.

PRAYER
Lord continually glorify your name as the mighty Healer.
