Chinese Simplified Translation to Keep Chat // Calling out For More Translators to Make this Global

Translation Contribution to the Open Source Project - Keep Chat

Keep Chat Open Source is looking for more Translators to translate their project into different languages. Today, I went into their site and translated their Keep Chat Project to Simplified Chinese Language. A couple of days ago, I translated this project to Traditional Chinese. Today, I translated the project to Simplified Chinese to make this project go Global so that the Mainland Chinese people can also use this app.

Here is a screen shot from my Crowdin Dashboard to show that I have completed this Simplified Chinese for this project Keep Chat.

As you can see, I actually have completed 2 translations in Chinese Traditional and Chinese Simplified. Both of these translations are fully completed and ready for final approval.

Here is the screen shot to show that the Chinese Simplified Translation begins at 0%. This means that no-one has translated the project yet.

The following screen shot is the page where we need to click on the strings.xml to start the translation.

The project translation is in the strings.xml and right now the blue line doesn't appear yet as the translation has not started. Once the pages of translation done, the blue line will appear to show how many percentages of the translation is done.

Proof that the Keep Chat Simplified Chinese is 100% Completed.

I am providing a screen shot of the Keep Chat translation is 100% done in Simplified Chinese Language.

From the screen shot, you can see that the strings.xmi needs translating. When I began the blue line doesn't appear yet and it is at 0%. After I have finished doing their translation to Simplified Chinese, the blue line will go all the way to 100% to proof that the translation is finished.

Inside the Translation Pages of Keep Chat Open Source Project

The translation actually takes place inside the Keep Chat project when you click on the strings.xml. There are 3 rounds of 2 Pages of translation that you need to go through. Each round you go through the blue line will move to the percentages that you have completed. You need to complete 3 rounds to finish the translation to get the blue line to reach 100%.

The following pages will give you a peek of proof of my completed translation.

Page 1 of 2 - Translation Completed

Here is a screen shot of Page 1 translated to Simplified Chinese.

As you can see these are the strings of words that need translating from English to Simplified Chinese. I translate each string one line to the next.

Notice that the bullets there have turned all green showing that my translation is completed for this page. Before the translation, the bullets are orange color. This makes it easy for the translators to see that these strings need translating. Once translated, the bullets of these strings turn green.

Here is the screen shot of Page 2 of 2 of Keep Chat Open Source Project.

Page 2 is very easy to translate as there are only 3 strings of sentences to translate.

Once Page 2 is finished, you continue to keep translating until you finish all 3 Rounds of Translations of 2 Pages to complete the translation to 100%.

Chinese Simplified Language Icon Gets Moved down to the Bottom of Translated.

After the translation is done 100%, the icon moves down to the bottom where all the other langauges have also been translated.

The Keep Chat Simplified Translated now belongs to the group of languages where proof readers are needed to check the translation. Once this translation is proof-read, it gets voted and the translation will have 100% approval.
