Travel Diary. Paris Part V
The Grevin wax museum surprises us with its impressive artworks
Day 6: August 8th
Our journey was near to its end, so we had to make the most of our time. We had a strong coffee with breakfast and headed to the famous Grevin Wax Museum. We had high expectations, because it was said that its artworks were very realistic.
Upon arrival, we noticed that the tales were true, the characters molded with wax were almost identical to the originals, it must be said that those sculptors are very talented.
We saw a show of lights and mirrors, then we started to photograph ourselves with characters like Brad Pitt, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jackie Chan. Madonna, Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson, Elton John, Bruce Willis, several country presidents, recognized sportsmen, Hemingway, Picasso, Pavarotti, Albert Einstein, Nostradamus, Pope St. John Paul II, Mother Teresa of Calcutta and many others.
We spent a good part of the day at the wax museum. We had a lot of fun in that place. After leaving, we ate something and then headed to the Montmartre district, where we visited the Basilica of the Sacred Heart. It is a very large and beautiful Church located on a high hill, which can be seen from several points of the city. We would not last long in that place; due to some accumulated fatigue. As the last tour of the day, we decided to go back to the Notre Dame and Latin neighborhood area, on the other side of the city, since we needed to buy some more souvenirs from there.
Day 7: August 9th
Our last day in the City of Light started. We took our bags and headed to the airport. We told ourselves that one day we would hopefully return.
First we took a relatively short flight to Madrid. There, we had excellent news from the airline, two of us were chosen to travel first class to Venezuela, 'unbelievable!' -We said-. With so many attentions and comforts the flight would be more pleasant than expected.
Once on the plane, I had mixed feelings, some nostalgia, but also a lot of happiness. Once again we had achieved it. We returned to our country, full of anecdotes and gifts for our loved ones.
End of chapter France.
At the end of this chapter, I was only a few weeks away from embarking on a new adventure. Argentina with its Rio de la Plata (Silver River, but golden for me) awaited us, promising to be particularly exciting.
