El Sr. Jose Luis ha sido nuestro vecino desde que nos mudamos acá hace alrededor de 10 años. Él tiene una condición de discapacidad intelectual. Anteriormente vivía con un familiar que lo cuidaba, pero dicho familiar se tuvo que ir hace aproximadamente 5 años del país debido a la crisis. Desde ese entonces ha quedado al cuidado de sus padres adoptivos y la esposa de su hermano, quienes viven relativamente cerca y lo visitan diariamente para llevarle comida y buscarlo para llevárselo un rato en las tardes a su casa, asearlo y comparta un rato junto con ello

Mr. Jose Luis has been our neighbor since we moved here about 10 years ago. He has an intellectual disability condition. Su tratamiento incluye Ridal 2mg y Tegretol 200mg. No conocía dicha situación de su familia hasta hace unos días que tuvimos un encuentro breve hace unos días en el cual les pregunté como estaban, como les estaba yendo y me comentaron sobre tales cosas. De inmediato al llegar a casa le dije a mi mamá para ver si podíamos ir a comprar algunas cosas incluyendo su medicación. Como ya era tarde fuimos al siguiente día y le compramos alimentos, el ridal y calcio que necesitaba.

Recientemente tuve contacto con su hija quien fue una de mis mejores amigas en ese entonces. En conversaciones me comentó sobre el estado de su mamá y me conmovió ya que es una persona a la que le agarré mucho cariño en mis tiempos en la escuela y verla así me dolió en el alma. Le pregunté qué de que manera podría ayudarla y me dijo que estaba necesitando insumos para sus diálisis. Según lo que me contó sus diálisis son 3 veces por semana. Así que fui a la farmacia la siguiente semana luego de haber hablado con ella, y el día lunes 12/04 me dirigí hasta la unidad y le hice entrega a la Sra. Amaury de los insumos que pude comprarle.

La sra no me reconoció a primera vista pues ya ha pasado un buen tiempo desde la última vez que nos vimos, pero luego le recordé quien era y se sorprendió y alegró mucho. Le conté que había hablado con su hija y ella hizo saber sobre su situación. El día que fui a hacerle la entrega ella estaba con su esposo Paul en la unidad de diálisis. Ambas nos alegramos, ella por recibir tal ayuda y yo por entregársela y ver su reacción.

She didn't recognize me at first glance as it has been a while since we last met, but then I reminded her who I was and she was very surprised and happy. I told her that I had spoken to her daughter and she let me know about her situation. The day I went to make the delivery she was with her husband Paul in the dialysis unit. Fue una gran alegría para mí haber ayudado tanto al Sr. Jose Luis como a la Sra. Amaury y ver sus reacciones al recibirla es algo por lo que en mi opinion vale la pena seguir ayudando a mas personas.

It was a great joy for me to have helped both Mr. Jose Luis and Mrs. Amaury and to see their reactions when they received it is something that in my opinion is worthwhile to continue helping more people.
