The Impossible

In the movie "The Impossible", we see the tsunami that swept the coast of Banda Aceh in 2004. The movie was based on the true story of a family vacationing there.

Maria, a doctor who leaves her job to spend time with her family on vacation at a resort hotel along with her husband Henry and their sons Lucas, Thomas and Simon. They spend a few moments of tranquility and fun together; the children playing in the pool with their father while their mother soaks up the sun. Not much happens when they feel the earthquake and the strong wind that hits them, everyone is amazed and without moving, the ball with which the children were playing is shot away from the pool so Lucas goes after it, when he manages to reach it Lucas realizes the tsunami that is near them, the father manages to grab his other two children who are with him, Maria just stands watching as the tsunami hits her family and then her; all that in a couple of seconds.

The strong situation can drive even the calmest person crazy, everything is under water, people screaming, waves sweeping more and more, taking everything in their path; trees, cars, businesses, houses, among other things.

Maria is in trouble trapped in an endless shaking with the waves that do not let her rise to the surface, after a while she manages to breathe air and tries to call her relatives but can not see more than water with disaster and hear more than the waves crashing with everything, she panics and begins to scream but no one appears, The waves sink her again but she finally manages to come up for air, she hears Lucas who fights for his life a few meters away from her so she goes in search of him, when they meet they both get out of the water to a firm ground and it is then that they realize the disaster caused by the tsunami and they start looking for their relatives, they go through many more problems while they go in search of them.

On the other hand, Henry and his two sons are stranded in some ruins of a place, but after conflicts and mess Henry decides that his sons should go to the shelter they all go to so he lets them go while he decides to go in search of his wife and his other son.

In the plot we see how both parties desperately search for each other, dodging the enormous difficulties they face. The family does whatever it takes to find each other.

This movie captivated me for its story, to see the family go through endless problems and still keep looking for their loved ones is something that not everyone does, there are some who would give up and decide to leave and protect themselves but here we see the strength they all have for deciding to look for their relatives, it is something to admire. The drama makes us immerse ourselves in a wave of emotions along with the family, it makes us feel part of it and share the feelings that they live, the loss, the pain, the emotions; each of these emotions transmits us and to be honest, the end of the film made me cry a lot but of happiness. I hope you like this wonderful work.

Lo Imposible

En la película de "Lo imposible", vemos el tsunami que arrasó en 2004 en la costa de Banda Aceh. La película fue basada en la historia verdadera de una familia que se encontraba de vacaciones allí.

María, una doctora que deja su trabajo para pasar tiempo con su familia en vacaciones en un hotel turístico junto con su esposo Henry y sus hijos Lucas, Thomas y Simón. Pasan unos momentos de tranquilidad y diversión juntos; los niños jugando en la piscina junto con su padre mientras que su madre toma el sol. No pasa mucho cuando sienten el terremoto y el fuerte viento que los golpes, todos quedan asombrados y sin moverse, la pelota con la que jugaban los niños sale disparada lejos de la piscina así que Lucas sale tras de ella, al lograr alcanzarla Lucas se da cuenta del tsunami que está cerca de ellos, el padre logra agarrar a sus otros dos hijos que están con él, María solo se queda viendo como el tsunami choca con su familia y luego a ella; todo eso en un par de segundos.

La fuerte situación puede enloquecer al más tranquilo, todo se encuentra bajo el agua, personas gritando, olas arrasando más y más, llevándose todo a su paso; árboles, carros, negocios, casas, entre otras cosas.

María se encuentra en problemas atrapada en un sin fin de sacudidas con las olas que no la dejan subir a la superficie, al cabo de un rato logra respirar aire e intenta llamar a sus familiares pero no logra ver más que agua con desastre y escuchar más que las olas chocando con todo, entra en pánico y comienza a gritar pero nadie aparece, las olas la vuelven a hundir pero ella al final logra volver a salir por aire, logra escuchar a Lucas quien lucha por su vida a unos cuantos metros de ella así que va en busca de él, al encontrarse ambos salen del agua a un terreno firme y es entonces que se dan cuenta del desastre que causó el tsunami y se comienzan la búsqueda de sus familiares, pasan por muchos problemas más mientras salen en su búsqueda.

Por otra parte, Henry y sus dos hijos se encuentran varados en unas ruinas de un lugar, pero luego de conflictos y desorden Henry decide que sus hijos deben de irse al refugio que todos van así que los deja ir mientras que él decide ir en busca de su esposa y su otro hijo.

En la trama vemos cómo ambas partes se buscan desesperadamente, esquivando las enormes dificultades que se les presentan. La familia hace lo que sea por encontrarse.

Esta película me cautivo por su historia, ver a la familia pasar por un sin fin de problemas y aún así seguir buscando a los suyos es algo que no todos hacen, hay algunos que se rendirían y decidirían irse y protegerse pero aquí vemos la fortaleza que tienen todos por decidir buscar a sus familiares, es algo de admiración. El drama nos hace sumergirnos en una ola de emociones junto con la familia, logra que nos sintamos parte de ella y compartamos los sentimientos que ellos viven, la perdida, el dolor, las emociones; cada una de esas emociones nos trasmite y para ser sincera, el final de la película me hizo llorar a cántaros pero de felicidad. Espero les guste esta maravillosa obra.
