This is a really easy and flavorful flatbread you can bake at home. Perfect for a soup or to make sandwiches with!
Ingredients
2.5 cups AP flour
1 tsp salt
1 packet of dry active yeast
small dollop of honey
1 cup of warm water
1tbsp chopped rosemary
1tbsp chopped thyme
2 cloves minced garlic
1/2 cup good olive oil
pepper to taste
a hard cheese of your choise (parm, romano etc) to shred over top
Steps
combine all the herbs, garlic, and oil in a small pan and cook on medium until fragrant and the garlic is just barely getting color (known as blooming)
wake the yeast up in a bowl with warm water and honey. Mix gently and let it sit for a few minutes
add 1 cup of the flour and half of the oil mix to the yeast. Stir gently (best smell ever!)
add rest of the dry ingredients and mix into a dough. Turn out on floured surface and knead until soft.
place in an oiled bowl and cover with a warm damp towel to rise. Preheat oven for 400 F
*place on oiled 9"x13" baking sheet. Top with rest of oil and shaved cheese. Let rest for 20 to partially inflate.
bake fore approximately 15-20 minutes checking for doneness, but still soft.
