14 foreign ambassadors withdrawn from Venezuela

Venezuela's withdrawal of its ambassador from the country's disputed presidential election has rejected the group in Lima. In a statement on Monday, the ambassador announced the withdrawal of the countries. The members of the group are Peru, Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Santa Lucia, Canada, Colombia, Honduras, Chile, Costa Rica, Guyana and Guatemala. The statement said that they did not recognize Venezuelan presidential election as valid. The country has taken this step a day after the election.

Nicholas Maduro, Venezuelan President, was elected the second term in a controversial election on Sunday. There have been allegations of fraud and irregularities in the election. Almost all the opposition parties have boycotted the elections. Apart from the allegations of irregularities in the election, the main opposition party rejected the election results. In a statement, Lima Group said they will withdraw their ambassadors from Venezuela. In addition to discussing the situation there, all their diplomats in the country will be brought back to their home country.

The statement also said they will break all ties with the Maduro government.
