# 729 - 2014 Kennedy Silver Set - Final

The third and final special product issued by the United States Mint to mark the 50th anniversary of the Kennedy Half Dollar series was a Silver Four Coin Set. Each coin included in the set was struck at a different mint facility with a different finish. The others were the Uncirculated Coin Set and the Gold Proof Coin.
All four coins included in the set featured the original Gilroy Roberts portrait design restored from 1964. All coins were struck in a composition of 90% silver and included the respective mint marks on the obverse. The mintage was 219,173 each.
The fourth coin was struck at the West Point Mint with a Reverse Proof finish, consisting of mirrored raised design elements and inscriptions against a frosted background. This represented the first use of the reverse proof finish for the series.
PCGS graded 8,771 2014-S $.50 Silver Reverse Proofs, with 7,046 as PR-70 Reverse.
The PCGS estimated price for a PR-70 DCAM is $115.00.
The obverse depicts a bust of United States President John F. Kennedy. It was engraved by Gilroy Roberts.
The reverse depicts the United States Presidential Coat of Arms. It was engraved by Frank Gasparro.

Nearly every reverse proof coin has been commissiined by dealers. The Libertad and Brittania are both Apmex exclusives. Other dealers get them but they get them in limited amounts from Apmex.
