Continuing the Modern Commemoratives Half Dollar series, we will present you today the 1995-S "Civil War Battlefields" graded by PCGS PR70 DCAM.
All coins of this series weight 11.34g with 91.67% copper and 8.33% nickel. They were issued in Proof and Brilliant Uncirculated finish.
They will be presented in the order they were minted.
This coin was issued for the preservation of battlefields associated with the Civil War.
The obverse of the coin features a standing drummer boy designed by Don Troiani.
The reverse of the coin features a cannon against a battlefield landscape.
A total of 330,002 coins were minted in San Francisco. The issue price was U$11.75. The actual price is around U$340.00 in this grade.

There was a very dark time in American history when people fought for their belief that an individual can buy and sell and own another human being, just like livestock. In my heart, I want to think that the confused belief was driven by the farm economy during the time, where there was a necessary and heavy reliance on farm labor.
