Continuing the Modern Commemoratives Dollar series, we will present you today the 1995 "Special Olympics" graded by PCGS PR70 DCAM.
All coins of this series weight 26.73g with 90% silver purity. They were issued in Proof and Brilliant Uncirculated finish.
They will be presented in the order they were minted.
This coin was issued to honor the competitions created for people with intellectual disabilities.
The obverse of the coin shows a portrait of Eunice Kennedy Shriver. On the coin, she is created as the founder of the Special Olympic Games, although some credit Anne Burke and consider the coin inaccurate.
The reverse features a rose, a Special Olympics medal, and a quote from Eunice Shrive.
A total of 351,764 coins were minted in Philadelphia. The issue price was U$37.00. The actual price is around U$235.00 in this grade.

Yes, it is. The Presidential dollar series stopped on Bill Clinton because ha was alive at the time his coin should be issued. She was the sister of John Kennedy and maybe they made an exception...
