# 232 - World War II Half Dollar
Continuing the Modern Commemoratives Half Dollar series, we will present you today the 1993-S "1991-1995 World War II " graded by PCGS PR70 DCAM.
All coins of this series weight 11.34g with 91.67% copper and 8.33% nickel. They were issued in Proof and Brilliant Uncirculated finish.
They will be presented in the order they were minted.
This coin was minted and issued in 1993 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of America’s involvement in World War II.
The obverse of the coin depicts the faces of a solider, sailor, and airman looking upwards. A B-17 bomber flies overhead and a “V” for victory is in the background.
The reverse of the coin features a battle scene from the Pacific Islands.
A total of 317,396 coins were minted in San Francisco. The issue price was U$10.00. The actual price is around U$300.00 in this grade.

The reverse shows a very good depiction of a battle. I like the realism.
